Julie Eshelman Lee, founded Creole West Productions over two and a half decades ago to liberate Louisiana and Pointe Coupée Parish, LA history in a variety of media to all disciplines and generations.

A graduate of Ohio University at Athens with a BBA, two decades of invaluable business expertise, her lifelong passion of education and history, and knowledge as an independent historian make this vision a reality.

Julie is a historian specializing in the eras during colonial France and Spain, the Louisiana Purchase, antebellum America, American Civil War and Reconstruction-1690s-1880s.

A descendant of founding families—free and enslaved—Julie traces the footprints of their stories through meticulous and comprehensive research, translation and transcription of the original records found in French, Spanish and later in English.  

Through this journey the story of the past unfolds bringing our history alive.

Julie has been well recognized for her work, receiving various acknowledgments and awards, including:
